Cannes, Team World Cup update

hello Bob, the 3-way consulting tie-breaker is used when other formulas for separating tied-teams, fails i.e. best results and results against each other
Once three teams tie, it's always going to be tough. The variation we used this year was not enforcing the third and deciding leg of a tie, so at 2-0, it's game over. One or two of the teams wondered if, had they had the opportunity to play the 'dead' decider, whether this would have changed anything. It might have, but I think "game-over" at 2-0 is pure. It also allows a team who has achieved a white-wash, to rest - which seems fair with the Main Event next up. Dead deciders are almost certainly easier to win than a match that brings a tie to 1-1.
It seems pretty harsh on Neil and Stick [and Mochy/Michi of Japan who were also eliminated in similar fashion). BGO and Japan are entitled to appeal to the tournament committee for a review.
