In Response To: Introduced To Backgammon Clocks Playing Richard Munitz (Seth)

I have yet to hear a good argument AGAINST using clocks, except possibly for the novice division where there is some merit in providing a less-imtimidating introduction to the game. The arguments for clocks are many, including the ones you stated, along with many more that have been expressed very well by others already here and elsewhere.

I think the use of clocks will be a given in all serious backgammon play and in the future I wouldn't be surprised to see them built in to the boards.

Personally, I would even like to see them in money games. I know the only reason MCG plays better than me in our chouettes is that I am too considerate to take as much time as he does over the board to figure out the plays.
