Neil: I was told by a staff member that "some people have to work and not everyone is a millionaire who can spend all his time playing BG"

Rich: Did these people not have jobs when the tournament brochure was printed with the schedule and they registered for the event anyway? Did these people not know they would have this time conflict until the day it happened? Did the director not know that he would want to delay the start due to people having jobs by an hour the night before so people could plan their day better?

That is ridiculous, and the staff member who gave you that answer should have if anything been apologizing about the unplanned change and not giving you an attitude.
