I can tell you something about how to interpret equities. Hopefully I undestood your questing correctly.
Equity is a way to summarize the 'value' of your position.
It is useful because it summarizes single, gammon, backgammons and present it in one number.
The cubeless equity does not take the cube into account while the cubeful does.
cubeless cubeful
-.028 .041
-050 .-.083
The first entry shows the equity after gnu's best move. It shows that cubeless you would be a very small dog losing only 2.8% of a point, but you will have slightly better use of the cube than your opp so with the cube in play you are actually a slight fav after gnus move.
The second entry shows the equities after your move. It is a worse move so your equity is worse, furthermore the opp will have more use of the cube than you so your cubeful equity in this case is worse than your cubeless equity. You rate to lose 8.3% of a point.
