Assuming we start with 20/15, which looks correct to me, and examining White's hitting numbers:

After 15/14:
11 puts us on the bar versus a clean 4 point board;
12 14 15 leave us a single shot from the bar;
13 16 leave us a double shot from the bar if White chooses to hit.

After 5/4:
22 puts us on the bar versus a clean 5 point board;
11 21 put us on the bar versus a clean 4 point board;
24 25 leave us a single shot from the bar;
23 26 leave us a double shot from the bar if White chooses to hit.

So 15/14 gets hit less, and when we are hit we're in better shape, either having more points to come in on or more return shots. Does 5/4 offer anything to compensate? It allows us to complete a 5 point board with a direct 6 from the 11pt. On the other hand, that direct 6 plays nicely to the 8pt after 15/14 as well. Without it, we'll have more difficulty safetying that checker when we are missed. I'm not seeing any other features which are important enough to sway me.

20/14
