Extras in chouettes

Interesting concept, but it makes little sense in practice.
When extras are an issue, you have a situation where everyone but one player wants to pass. 80% of the time that player is the captain, and he is taking not because it is a take, but because he wants to win the box. The purpose of extras is to speed up the game by getting the taker to pass, and if not, to give him his wish and let him assume the risk and get the thrill of playing against the field a game early. Will he get two boards to reduce volatility once in the box? No. So why here?
What is an interesting generalization of your concept when there are larger groups is that of interlocking Chouettes. One rotation, two simultaneous games - always.
