Having someone roll the dice for both players is far from a silly recommendation. I would certainly like that if I was playing for high stakes against a stranger. I also wouldn't mind any other form of dice generator that is neutral...electronic would be fine too.

I have also played where we rolled each other's dice, and I have played where each player rolled one die EVERY ROLL regardless of who's turn it was.
