And lets not mention the fact that it only showed up on the event calendar a couple of months before the event.

The one room that I saw looked to be an improvement over what I've seen of rooms in the past. But that said, it was not what I would call a transformation of any sorts.

As I've said in a previous post and it is something I heard some other return attenders say as well - if you lower your expectations of the rooms and allow yourself to simply enjoy the location, the scenery, the low-key nature of the event, and if the weather is nice (which it was on Saturday) - the ability to sit outside on the stone patio playing backgammon overlooking the St. Lawrence, it is worth the trip to me.

Julius High did manage to earn himself one penalty point because he was fishing off of the terrace in his room for too long instead of getting back to play his match. They called his cell phone which he listed on the signout sheet and discovered that he had left the phone on the table in the playing room. At what other ABT event can someone go kill time fishing while waiting for a match to complete?
