I disagree about 3-ply being totally useless in back games. 3-ply is, in my view, stronger on average than 2-ply in most positions, including back games.

One point that many missed, including myself, is that though I have two anchors and I'm down 66 pips after the roll and have a lot of timing, I'm not really in a back game.
