As I see it due to the complete duplication of 4s, there is virtually no downside to the slot here. The big rule of thumb violation here is the big split, coming under the gun by 4 builders. The beauty of the play is that by doing both you create a situation where white cannot do everything and you have a great chance to do whatever he doesn't. My sense is that the slot wins more than if you were simply allowed to play 24/20 and lift the dice. I doubt I would have come up with this over the board. It I'd a good eye opener.
