Stick and Richard "This position is a lot more gammonish than the opening position so I don't think By that logic, the opening position is a close take on an 8-cube? is a fair statement."

I'll add that this position is very easy to play and basically 95% dice and 5% skill (maybe less skill). The opening position is considerably more difficult to play and the clearly weaker player will make far more errors than he can make from here.

Once again, my quickly (and that was all it was) rollout with J/T -100 ELO MET showed this to be only a .8 take.

If we assume Mochy to play at a 3.0 and Lecomte at a 10.0 what is the approx ELO difference? What is Mochy can play a 2.5 and Lecomte an 8?

Anyhow to me it seems that Mochy is clearly more than 100 ELO superior and therefore I cannot criticize his score based pass, which IMHO is likely to be a push or even slightly correct if he's 150 ELO stronger than his opp.

I do still think that the results obtained from the "Fish" book skew things a bit against the stronger player (ie he should take a bit more and cube a bit sooner than the book's analysis might suggest) noting a few things.

1) The weaker player is quite likely to make all sorts of errors on both sides of a lopsided score.

2) One never knows when a weaker player can stick in a really bad play or two.

3) J/T MET's were calculated using 24% G chances and that being a bit low, IMHO, may make the leaders ME a bit high. (minor factor)

Anyhow..if Mochy takes here, almost 1/4 of the time he's down 16 to 0 and basically dead.

I find no fault in his pass. .. neilkaz ..
