I spent almost my entire youth playing tournament chess.

Rule #1 is when your opponent is in time pressure, CONTINUE TO PLAY THE BEST MOVES! Do not play fast unnessariliy or play inferior moves - this just helps your opponent.

On the other hand, this is not a chessplayer, it appears to be someone who is inexperienced with the clock. So what did happen to him with the clock in this match?
