Time limits

You know I'm with you Joe in believing that 2/12 for normal singles is a bit too tight, but certainly there are two factors here that argue in favor of this team rightfully losing on time.

1. There is no excuse for anyone not being able to roll and make a forced play in 18 seconds. The fact that this guy with 6 seconds left and his own partner yelling to just roll the dice couldn't break out of a bad habit and just roll the dice leaves very little room for sympathy.

2. This is doubles. Extra time (1:30/point extra in this case) is provided for partners to discuss. However nothing REQUIRES that partners must discuss. This extra talk time is completely discretionary and it is completely a time management issue since nobody can argue that 3:30/12 is insufficient time to play a match without talking. And here you have two people to split the work of a pip count. If you are getting low on time, just stop talking and play.
