31 is a very strong roll for White, very much above average.

O.K., after actually running through White's rolls, I now agree: 31 is one of White's best rolls. Therefore I agree that it looks like a take. It still looks a double to me, but I have very little experience with match play.

Speaking of which, would you play 31: 3/o 1/o or 31: 6/3 1/o? I am not sure which is best.

Good question. I don't know either, but my instinct would be to play 3/off 1/off. I almost surely have to pick up the second checker, and I have almost no time left.
