Until you make either the 5 or 4 point, your threat isn't all that scary. And at this score, you want it to be gammonish-scary, so I would make the 4 point right now, hoping for miss/cover and a nice 5 point block with only one remaining gap to fill. If you're hit, there are return shots someplace regardless of what he hits with, and those returns are juicier than they might have been later, because of your owning the 4 point.
