13/9 would not bring that much to the forward position and our outfield would look a little inadequate, with one stripped point and two blots.

If Stick anchors, I'd rather have split ; if he dumps a checker in his outfield, I'd rather have split ; if he leaps in our outfield, it is to hit on the 9pt, I'd rather have split. If he shuffles his backmen, our outfield blots are vulnerable.

The rolls that make use of the builder on the 9pt (6-2, 5-2, 6-3) play well after 24/20 too. The split loses mostly when 13/9 would have allowed us to point on him.
