Stick,
Interesting to note. This position on GNU 2-Ply gets it totally wrong. Returns:
9/8 +0.591 11/10 8/4 +0.019 11/6 +0.028 8/3* +0.057
Snowie 3 Ply Returns:
8/3* +0.582 9/5 9/8 +0.000 11/6 +0.007 11/10 8/4 +0.020
GNU 3- Ply Returns:
8/3* +0.576 9/5 9/8 +0.012 11/6 +0.023 11/10 8/4 +0.029
It is reported that Snowie 3-Ply is same as GNU 2-Ply. It appears that there is substantial deviation. Don’t know were that claim is supported or confirmed. Phil Simborg had also stated 3-Ply is equal to 2-Ply GNU while showing a position in FLA. Can’t wait to see how Extreme plays out in all of this.
I roll out all my GG matches in 2-Ply GNU for speed reasons. I manually click on errors below .060 and 70% 0f time they are not errors in 3-Ply or are reduced significantly or turn out to be #1 play.
Is GNU 2-Ply total crap? In your example it goes from a 0.052 error to the #1 play by 0.012, not to mention thematically they are very different plays. This is akin to walking into a whorehouse and asking for two big titted tattooed blondes and settling for a single flat chested brunet.
I notice that most matches posted on Gammon Village are GNU 2-Ply. Can they be trusted?
