“They use different Neural Nets to evaluate positions”.

In an attempt to learn and evolve through the use of Bots and employ the varied results for multiple positions run on the three mentioned Bots (Snowie, GNU, Xtreme) becomes suspect and questionable. The key for a human evolution in the game is to be able to understand the outputs of the neural net technology supported by statistical significance. If as a learning tool certain Plys return vastly different results as indicated in the 2-ply GNU of the aforementioned 4-1, which is thematically and vastly different than other plays at 3-Ply and Snowie, one can easily get a false sense of security and actually derive dead wrong conclusions and evolve backwards.

The say “two heads are better than one as long as they are not on the same person”.

The Bots in question can’t speak and explain the “Why” of a candidate move, yet alone how they specifically evaluate differences at different Plys of the candidate moves.

The comment in thread by Matt about more not being better even raises further questions.

I enjoy the use of the bots. Not clear to me if I’m getting “Paralysis by Analysis.” Subsequent neural net technology may find current neural nets significantly flawed at certain Plys..
