c) 5. (I wonder about XG in mini-rollout mode -- need more data. Also, effectively at $-games SW4 3-ply precise and GNU-bg World Class are so close (from Depreli study) that they should be called 'equal'.)

I am not sure which is better for money play. SW and GNU are quite close, though if I had to bet, my money would be on GNU.

I don't know what is stronger between GNU 2-ply, XG 3-ply, and XG roller. I have some preliminary thoughts but I'd rather not say at this time.

If you will lay 10^142 to 1 I will play GNU in a long money session, no crazy backgame trickery.
