Rumors have been swirling for more than a year that Apple is coming out with a new touch-tablet computer. Those rumors have become quite specific in the past couple of months.

The new tablet ("iPad"?) won't be as big as the table computer in the picture. (It will have perhaps only a 9 or 10-inch display.) But it should still make a very nice backgammon board ... for all the reasons you mentioned.

Maybe October. Maybe $800.
