I'd be interested in seeing results of a gnubg rollout configured to the equivalent of XGRoller.

I'm pretty sure that if it is an improvement, then it could be built into the gnubg player options. The command "set player 0 chequerplay type rollout" and all related commands for setting the rollout parameters exist, but are not implemented.

I think that XGRoller has demonstrated that modern PCs are fast enough to perform such rollouts, which was not the case when gnubg was first coded.

In fact, I'll post a feature request to the gnubg mailing list.
