I agree. And it would be nice if "accidentally removed" was defined. Maybe something like this:
- A checker is "properly borne off" if it is removed from the board by the player of that color during the course of his turn. This includes illegal plays condoned by the opponent (4.8).
- A checker is "accidentally removed" if it was not placed on the board initially or is removed from the board by some means other than being properly borne off.
