I don't buy this. The passage of time doesn't change the amount of information available. On day 1, day 10 and day 11 everyone knows that there are 9 or 10 people with blue eyes. The oracle's pronouncement doesn't add any new information for any of the islanders at all, and doesn't give any individual information about their own eye color.

I think nothing happens and nobody commits suicide on any day.

I don't like Misja's answer because there is no way to rank the islanders as '1st', '2nd', '3rd', etc. Any blue-eyed islander can take the role of any of the rankings, especially as the '1st'.

But correct me where I'm wrong.
