Heh -- I didn't mention your play 24/23 6/4 2/*1. It doesn't break the 4 point. It seems reasonable. I'm not crazy about 24/23 because the acepoint spare might guard against being forced out with sixes, or might save an ace to play instead of breaking the board. But often everything goes crash boom anyway, or you get hit and enter with an ace, so the spare there probably isn't terribly important.
