You might get 100 people say they'd definitely be interested in buying, but they're probably thinking < $100.
How much does he need to gross to make it worthwhile? I was thinking around $100 for a price point, but like I said, it depends on robustness... if it's pretty good, I'd go higher.
Right now, depending on the pace of play, I can generally input at maybe 80-100% of the actual playing time. The slower the play is, the faster I can go, since I can zoom right past somebody's five minute think fest.
The important factor is probably how much I need to babysit the program. I doubt it would ever be completely automated... SOME amount of human intervention would be necessary.
So let's say I have a match that lasts 100 minutes -- if somebody can come up with a program that would (on average) let me get that transcribed in say, 10 minutes, I think that would be a heck of a time savings. I'd definitely pay more than $100 for that.
Maybe I would be willing to pay more if every opponent I played that requested a copy of the match would kick down a couple of bucks... then I'd pay for the software eventually. =)
