1. touch-move should clearly be the rule for many reasons; 2. I agree that once you move a checker it should stay there; 3. if we can't change the current rules, then at least modify them....the rules should be that if you move checkers to see what they look like, the checkers moved should be placed at the point-end of the pip, and not against any other checkers on that point. Once you move the checker and put it against the other checkers, it must stay. That will prevent a lot of disagreements or "mistakes" in putting the checkers back. By the way, I do this EVERY TIME myself to prevent disagreements. 4. Even if the rules are not changed, I recommend you get in the habit of doing the above to avoid disputes. Once you get into that habit, and encourage others to do the same, you will see the benefits.
