Wasn't much of a clinic ... I mean a "value bet" more or less by definition is supposed to be a mediocre hand that you bet still thinking you have the best hand and that you might get a call. Like rag/r/r flop, you have AK, other guy has AQ, it's short handed and you bet through the river cause you don't think he has a pair. Here Negreanu isn't so much value betting as betting. He has a monster and Phil pretty much said "Hey... I got a weak ace, so if you have jack or queens you should check but if you have a good ace go ahead and bet and maybe I'll donk/call you again". The only thing Daniel had to figure is how much Phil would donk/call.
