I didn't know him personally but read many his articles on Internet and of course his BG Bootcamp. I pick up from there cube handling in backgames, among many other things. He was definitely one of the best BG writers IMHO and his articles are always accompanied with bot rollouts and were very accurate. Also I like to read his annotations of old matches on GV which he divided in Gold and Bronze era of backgammon. Recommended for all beginners and advanced players. I remember how he answered on my few questions on GoL in my very beginnings there which I consider very kindly from his side as BG giant. I was preparing to read once again his Bootcamp and I think I will start to read his Tactics & Theory after that.
