Chouette Debate -proposed consulting rule

I agree that non-consulting favors the stronger players. I for one would be less likely to join a chouette with stronger players if it were non-consulting, because as captain, I like to have teammates point out other plays. Consulting also adds a social element to the game.
On the other hand, consulting can drag on forever, so I would propose the following rule: once the cube is turned, each team player can suggest a play to the captain, with a brief explanation of its benefits. However, that player must then remain silent until the turn is over, except if the captain requests a vote.
