Backgammon has lost one of its true greats; a giant of the game in every sense. Few have contributed as much to our understanding of the game. Few have shed such great clarity on so many areas. Walter was a true gentleman and a role model.

Active or not at this moment, Walter will be on my Giants ballot for 2009. It is where he belongs.
