I don't think this has anything to do with any sort of paradox and exists more commonly than you think. All you're saying is play A will be correct even though another play wouldn't have got you cubed. All this means in the relatively common situations I'm referring to is that play A raises the volatility of a particular position whereas play B may not. Regardless, play A is still the best play even though you get cubed in.
