But you're both right. That's nice. You got your value bets, your bluff bets and your semi-bluff bets. A value bet expects to be called. The value in a bet for value is in the call you expect from a lesser hand. No reason you can't "value bet" a monster. But since betting a monster when you expect a call from a lesser hand is not rocket science, the theorists emphasize value betting with marginal hands. Talking No Limit, they often say "value bet" meaning specifically a small bet sized to induce a call from a lesser hand.
