I have no doubt at all that GNU will play 19/14 4/1*. It makes that kind of board breaking play in this class of positions all the time, whether it's the right play or not. Here though I'll bet it's right. If you don't hit it won't just be bad for you if the blot gets to 23, getting hit on 24 and not throwing a one will also seriously weaken your position.
