'An island has 100 islanders, all of them are extremely good at logic and they all know that. 10 of them have two blue eyes and the other 90 have two green eyes.'

You are right Greg, somehow my eyes missed the period at the end of the first sentence and I read it to be; 'all of them are extremely good at logic and they all know that 10 of them have two blue eyes and the other 90 have two green eyes.'

What I find very interesting is that the oracle's pronouncement is no news to anyone, since all islanders see either 9 or 10 blue eyed islanders, but it allows the chain of logic to start by making the first step in the chain possible where it had been impossible beforehand-the ability of a single blue eyed islander to determine his eye color.
