I'm of the opinion that all the remedies suggested here are far worse than the disease. I don't play in Europe and maybe it is a much bigger deal there, but in the US I feel the risk of getting jobbed with dice cheaters is so trivial (based on the number of actual dice cheat cases), all off this stuff is simply silly.

Playing with one set of dice and a clock removes a lot of the problem with gaffed dice. Certainly knowing the dice are rigged to roll large numbers is of some advantage, but that would be trivial to the 'regular' cheat where only the cheater gets to use the gaffed dice.
