OK. I'll put my head on the block.
First 30 games. Lost 92-8 = 2.8 ppg. Error rate 8.2.
Reviewing my play, I see a few things:
I need to concentrate more on getting men into White's outer board, rather than rushing into my own. I need to be more ruthless in knocking White back if he's in prime-hopping position. Sometimes I should forget purity and just blitz the last man. However, four in a row is more than you think; don't be too hasty to break down a four or five prime for a hit. You can afford to trust it hold White up. I missed some opportunities to block large doubles with a point at range 12, 15 and 16. Don't forget that a chequer on 23 covers the 5 with 66! I'm getting bg'ed too often when White scoops up some chequers and I can't bundle them out in time. Sometimes I must just play to limit the damage. When bearing off, hold 6,5 and 4-point boards at all costs, however much you bury chequers. I was sometimes bearing-off two from a closed board, leaving 2 blots. My idea was that if I took off one and lifted the resulting blot, an entering number would lead to an easy racing win for White, so I might as well get hit and try to hit back on the way round. Gnubg didn't care for this idea. In fact, gnubg often preferred to to bear off and lift even if the second die could have taken off a spare if it left a four-point board or better. Second 30 games. Lost 80-18 = 2.1 ppg. Error rate 5.0.
Improving, but I'm still not putting enough emphasis on getting into White's outfield. I'm also overlooking good plays with large double - I think I'm too used to moving two-by-two, which doesn't apply here.
