Your second idea, of tapping the dice to change the order, is how Extremegammon works and how several play sites work, and that is what players are used to, so I like that change a lot.

I think the ability to play two players is very important. I don't need to play backgammon on my iPhone when I have a laptop and can play on the internet or Extreme...but it would be very handy to have it to play someone a match on an airplane, or in the car, etc. etc.

It would also be fantastic if I could get a rating (ELO or ER) at the end of a game or match, and it would be great to be able to play different lengths of matches.
