Even I wouldn't split the back checkers now, so either it is 20/18 with an ace on our side, or play both numbers on our side.

After 20/18 I think aiming to cover is more important than making the four prime right away. 7/6 also makes our non-entering 3's good.

If we don't play 20/18, I think 8/6 4/3 looks best. Flexible, and again, keeps good 3's on our side.

All together, the gut feeling is that the additional 2 played on our side doesn't really help us that much - it starts to cramp our position. Whereas 20/18 may be beneficial, it takes the blot off the point where most of the builders are aimed, and that Stick most would like to make. Of course it also moves it out of the inner board and makes it easier for Stick to hit loose, but I still think 20/18 is a small improvement.
