Baffle Boxes in Madison

The most common method is for both players to roll near simultaneously, each using a different colored die. At our club you are not allowed to touch the die after it has been rolled, even if the other player has not rolled. If the second rolled die hits the first die, the final result stands. I understand how this could lead to some type of attempted manipulation. In practice this is not a problem, since both players generally roll near simultaneously, different colored dice.
Even on the occasions where one player rolls before the other, the second rolled die almost never hits the first rolled die and changes its result-maybe once every several thousand rolls.
In a clocked match, the colors of the dice would automatically be different so all you would need is to roll into the box near simultaneously to start the game.
The actual practice is that one player actually rolls a split second after the other more often than together, but before a result of the first rolled die is determinable.
