Your passive voice is excellent. Because of the number of players and the records, the tournament committee felt that was the appropriate manner to stage the final rounds. Neil was very lucky in that he won't have to take the chance of playing Scott Casty until the finals (if they both win in the semis). Scott is very hot, and as you know, hot beats skill every time.
