The Giants of Backgammon list is a list made by people who know backgammon, and both John and Ed are on it.

Honestly, I'd like to see seedings in Calcutta auctions eliminated as a practice for reasons like this. However, if it is going to be done, then certainly inclusion on the Giant 32 list should make one an automatic seed.
