Did you look at scenarios where the Swiss could be extended into the tenth round? I thought the draw that you ended up with was OK, but I would much rather see a draw where there are no byes in the championship section of the playoffs.

It seems to me that you should run the Swiss until you get a clean (i.e. no byes) playoff for the championship. I don't mind byes in the consolation portion of the playoff, and I doubt you can avoid those.
