The fact that XG gives you a comparison between your play and the 3 ply play is simply an interesting piece of information that you might enjoy knowing. It may be a measure of how well you played that position compared to 3 ply, or it may be a measure of how back 3 ply is on that particular type of position. Either way, it is not a bug...just something you might enjoy seeing. If you don't enjoy it, turn it off and don't use it.
The fact that GNU and Snowie don't make that comparison for you doesn't mean it isn't there if you look for it....Extreme simply makes it easier for you to see this tidbit of information if you want to.
Personally, when I play on EX with others, most people enjoy seeing that they made a play that is better than the basic computer program would make. If that floats your boat, why not? Where is the damage of having this information?
It doesn't change the numbers; doesn't affect your ELO and doesn't change the order of plays...it just adds a display feature.
