I hate to pass up a hit, but here I play 8/4 6/4. It creates a solid base from which to attack White's increasing brittle position.

At present, hits don't damage White much, and give him time to play chequers more flexibly. White would like to use his four point board to attack, and our hitting plays offer chances to do that with return hits, as well as disconnecting our position.
