Chiva, truer words were never spoken. If I made a list of all the stupid comments, complaints, threats, and suggestions that I have heard people say to backgammon tournament directors over the years, it would fill this forum. Long ago it caused me to come up with this axiom:

"Every reasonable idea has an equal and opposite idiotic idea that some backgammon player will demand."

I have run handball, racquetball, golf, and tennis tournaments. NOTHING compares to the stupidity, unreasonableness, and rudeness I have encountered running backgammon tournaments.

Even though tournament directors have rejected some of my more reasonable requests (like allowing me to slap my opponent when he complains about his rolls while winning the game), I can certainly sympathize with your horrible job.

By the way, I really think the "slap rule" should be adopted, along with the "stab option" Stick suggested if your opponent lies or cheats.
