In Response To: Why so much debate over Opening Rolls? (Phil Simborg)
When someone tells me backgammon is a dice game and nothing but luck I offer to play them for money and see who is luckier. When someone tells me the opening isn't worth studying and any error they may be making is small and insignificant I ask them how they think I got to where I am today and if they think they are a better player than I am. Two semi reasonable answers to two donkey questions/statements.
