Daniel pretty much covered why it's so bad. Running out leaving your bar slotted forces your opponent to roll an immediate good number or suffer the consequences of the cube being turned. Make the POH play and there are no real consequences for a long time to come.

I think if you take a look at if the cube was already turned your play will be much closer, though still wrong, it does show that aspect of it.
