This brand of position (15 vs. 1,2,3 checkers) are notoriously difficult for the bots, and I never put much credence in anything they have to say, evaluation or rollout.

I think they aren't trained much in this position type, and often the number of legal plays is so large (especially with small numbers) it's hard for it to sift through them to find the best (this last is just speculation on my part, but I think it has some validity.)

Making the ace is obviously wrong, regardless of the bot's opinion.
