What About this Cube Decision from Madison? -- OTB

I doubled, John took, I hit one checker (never got the other), won the game, and lost the DMP game for the match.
There was never a thought of the cube being a bluff -- the weakest intermediate in the field would take this, I hope. John O'Hagan was sitting across from me.
And the fact that John O'Hagan was sitting across from me did enter into my thoughts. I could play on -- if I hit I'm a huge favorite to win the game and I lose my market, or if I miss I'm likely down 1-away, 4-away Crawford to the said John O'Hagan, or if I miss I lose the match by being gammoned 30%-35% of the time by my estimation. So, I'm either done playing or I likely have to win two or three games in a row to claim the match -- against the said John O'Hagan.
Or I could cube knowing w/o a doubt that he's taking. If I miss I most likely lose the match. If I hit it's very probably down to a single game.
Maybe it's technically not a double, but I was comfortable at the time that it was my best option, or not far from it.
And, yes, I very much respect and 'fear' (seemingly the word of the week) John O'Hagan as an opponent. He will be on my Giants ballot.
