(RM)Is that because you simply like the predictability of the scheduled starting times and be able to use the time as you wish rather than having to wait around in the playing room in case you are called for a match?

(NK) Yes and noting that you may end up waiting until the end of the 2 hour period anyhow for your opp.

(RM)There is no question that if the tournament has the time (Madison has a 3 day weekend), then time is not really a concern. However there are those who would simply rather kwow who they play next and start playing immediately rather than have to potentially wait an hour.

(RM)But with a situation like Pittsburgh potentially trying to cram the same kind of event with as many or more people into two days, the luxury of people waiting an hour to know their next opponent may not exist unless matches are scheduled to be played very late or very early and perhaps well into Sunday night.

(NK) Yes, but we can't draw 5 rds in Madison when 4 losses means you're out. I think 2 losses will mean your out in Pitt. I do realize Pitt may have timing issues here and am more than willing to trust Rob to try it this way !

(RM)I am simply suggesting a possible way to cram more rounds into less time and still keep the features of a Swiss event.

(NK) Understood but doubt it will speed the overall event very much.
